Name:              Eiji Kawashima

Birthday:           March 20, 1983

Born in:             Yono,Saitama,Japan

He is based now in Belgium and is playing with Lierse S.K. in Belgian 1st Division and

Japan National Team ( Blue Samurai).

That's all that Wikipedia can say. I couldn't find any facts about him aside from his football

career. I wish I could know more about him. But if Google doesn't know that much, how much

more me? haha..It's funny to say he's "MY" when I don't know anything about him noh?

Aside from those basic info,

I know that he's gorgeous..

 He's an amazing goal keeper...

He's definitely sexy!

He's fond of kittens..

He can be angry sometimes..

And I love him! xoxo

Oh.. I wish I was the ball!

Yes! Japan's Blue Samurai beats Australia's Socceroos on the AFC Asian Cup Finals held

last January 29, 2010 in Khalifa Stadium, Doha Qatar.

This is the first ever football match that I've watched live in the stadium and it wouldn't

definitely be the last!

I've been watching the elimination up to semi-final rounds on tv, but never did I got the chance

to watch it live in the stadium then. And since Philippines didn't qualify, I got my bet on

definitely Qatar's team. Not just because I'm here in Qatar but also because of Sebastian

Soria.

Don't ask me why. It's very obvious! He's gorgeous! And hot! And whatever!

But since Qatar lost against Japan (my heart was split during this match) on the Quarter

Final match, I got my bet transfered to Japan. Well, my explanation for that is because, I look

more like a Japanese than an Aussie. Lol!

No. Actually, it's because of them!

They're Eiji Kawshima (goal keeper) and Atsuto Uchida (defender) a.k.a Enchong. I called him

Enchong because he looks like Enchong Dee! Lol! So together in this pic, they're Eiji and

Enchong!

And Eiji is the one who really made my heart sway! hahaha! ( head over heels mode!)

All the calories that I've burned and all the air that I lost because of a long way we walked (No.

Actually we're running!) to our seats were paid off as I saw Eiji did all those crucial blocks!

He really deserves to be the "Man of the Match". He was able to keep the game in a clear

score of 1-0 in a double overtime match with the more offensive and eager Aussies. I am not a

Football prof but based on what I have watched, Aussies are really a team to beat. They had

so many shoot on targets and they can keep the ball always on there side. It was really just

Eiji's hands that keep them from getting a goal. That's why Japanese says:

Crowds were great too! They did big waves and great cheers also. (ohh. It should be we! I am

there also!)

Don't ask me where am I on the pic! Even if I'm as big as me, and you'll use magnifying glass

you will not see me there!

The fireworks and the confetti were great too! Qatar really did a show off! (in preparation for

 the FIFA World Cup 2022)

With my first game I really believe, Football is the "King of all Ball Games".

It was really a Game to Remember!

We rarely know Football in the Philippines.

If there will be a sports craze there, it would definitely be those "B" Sports.

Basketball, Boxing, Bowling and Billiards.

But Football? A big NO, NO!

I have never been a fan of football also. Until Azkals came out of nowhere.

Before the end of 2010, Filipinos were  shocked by the performance of the Philippine Azkals

Team in the recently held AFF Suzuki Asian Cup 2010 in Indonesia.

They were able to get into the Semi-Finals by winning against Vietnam's team, The defending

champion. (not sure about the last)

Though they had not been lucky to make it to the finals, a fair play award was given to them.

And making it that far, in our first attempt in the international football league like this, is

already an achievement for us as a fan and as a nation.

I do hope that this would be the beginning of a greater years of football for the Philippines.

And I really hope that I could watch Philippine Azkals team on a FIFA World Cup Tournament

someday. (fingers crossed)

I just learned about this site from PW. This site is called, FreeRice. It's a quiz site wherein for every right answer, you'll get the chance to donate 5 grains of rice to feed hungry people.

It's so fun to play here because you get to workout your brain! There are different subjects you can play with. There are grammar, vocabulary, multiplication, country capital, country map location, paintings and many more!

Everybody should try this! It can never be boring because you will just play when you have time. It's not demanding like the other play site wherein you need to keep playing to maintain the site. And the more special on this site, you'll get the chance to HELP!

Isn't it GREAT? :D

Sorry for my inconsistency! I blog about things and events in a nonchronological manner.

Anyways, We had our usual Christmas Party for Pinoys in Accounts Team at the office as early as Dec. 2!

Yeah! you heard it right, it's like we're putting our Christmas Tree as early as September!

But this one has a good reason. We just want all to attend even those who are going on vacation in December, so we made it early.

Starting last year, we had theme for our party. Last year it was Christmas Color. We wore outfits in Christmas Colors like Red, Green and Yellow.

And for 2010's theme, we had a Hollywood!

Level to! We wore party dresses this time around. If you can manage, you can imitate your hollywood stars outfits for the red carpet. Not the Oscar one because those are gowns already. MTV red carpet is enough to imitate.

I made an invitation as usual in hollywood theme also.

My colleagues put on their best party dresses to fit on this theme! And to get the award as " Star of the Night".

Black is really a party color! And in a red carpet, you can come in formal up to funky dresses!

And sexy dresses is in too! (Ooops.. the last one was not too sexy though! :D)

And we had group presentation also. Each group represent era from the 60's,70's and 80's.

Yeah! it's 60's and Elvis Era. plus the not too familiar female group with all those glittery outfits and black stockings! And yes it's it's a girl who portray Elvis and it's a boy who portray that one dancer at the back! How cool!

And this one is the 70's. If you cannot identify the characters then you're not that good in history! (that's a joke!) This one was a not so replica presentation of "Grease" with John Travolta of course. And yeah! That small girl portray John!

And this one is for the 80's. With all that groovy hair and mini skirts and all. I just don't know why there was a monk replica here! (there on that green dress!)

And as promised, we gave awards to those very special persons. We had "NBK Hall of Fame" for the oldest in the company, "Staff of the Year" for the ever kind employee, "Fashionista of the Year" for the most stylish in a weekly competition, "Loyalty Award" for those who stay with the group through thick and thin even in a different company now, and lastly the most awaited award, "Star of the Night"!

We had lots of fun really...

It's really up to the person if you'll be sad or happy on holidays like Christmas even away from home.

If there's a will there's always a way to be HAPPY!

If there's something I could be happy about in spending Christmas here in Doha, It's that I have a family here I could celebrate it with.

And it's traditional, that we always got a family pictures in every Christmas Family Party that we had. This one was on 2010.

As always, we have a wacky one! We love making ourselves look stupids!

And we're not satisfied with just one crazy pics...

We love pics and we even love crazy pics! So it goes on..

And on...

As usual, Mhaya had a pic with his Ninong Shawn. A traditional one also.. For them it's a sweet one!

If there's one thing I would be thankful for in using Facebook, It's because I get to keep in touch with my long lost sisters!

Yeah! I have half sister in Japan!

They're my half sisters with my mom. I never get to know them before when my mom is still alive. Rea ( my full blood sis!) got to know one during my mom's wake. But I never got the chance to meet her also because I'm in Qatar already during that time.

Here they are..

It's Ate Gigi in the left and Ate Agnes in the right.

Notice the resemblance with us? :)

Look for the common features that would link them to me and Rea..

Yeah! You got it! It's our eyes!

We have the same eyes...

I got to talk with Ate Gigi in facebook. But i never get to talk with Ate Agnes yet. I hope I be able to have a chance someday.

Here is another pic..

He's not our brother if that's what you're thinking...

He's Ate Gigi's eldest son! He's name is Takahiro. Ate Gigi is married to a Japanese.

She got a handsome son right? And it means, I got a handsome nephew also..

And look at the eyes.. It's still there! From generation to generation!

I hope to meet them someday! And I hope that that someday would be soon!

It's really common among us Filipinos to celebrate Christmas longer as ever. We start it usually as the "BER" months started. We begin decorating our home with Christmas Decors. We started playing Chirstmas songs in the radio stations. And for some like me and my officemates, we started our "Kris Kringle" as early as Sept ends!

For the September month, it was "Something Round and Useful".

I was so delighted to know that my "Baby" was Ate Aimee. Love to give her gifts. She appreciates to many things it's so easy to find her one that she would like.

And because I'm her shopping buddy, I get to know that she likes candles, so I gave her scented candles! Enough to light her room a year round!

As an exchange to the candles, I received a Smiley Pillow in return. I so love it!. It's as cute and as huggable as me! :D Thanks to my "mommy"!

Blog EntryJul 31, '10 4:04 AM
for everyone

Been into ups and downs this month of July.

I've experience both the extremes. So much happiness and so much sadness.

There is so much fun while celebrating my birthday 3 times! Record breaking. Celebrated it with my officemates in a wii party on the eve of my birthday, followed by a get together party with my family here on Doha. The third one was on the 20th, together with the farewell party of my Moroccan officemate. So much fun!

But it seems that once you experience extreme happiness, you'll definitely experience extreme sadness also.

It might not true to all, but for some including me, it does happened.

On the same day of my birthday, my life stopped. All of a sudden, I'm in the middle of nowhere, trying to figure out what I have done wrong to deserve such desolation. Suddenly, my future plans becomes worthless. Self pity comes back in. Tearful nights and everything.

But no matter how extreme the things had been, life is life. And it's there to live in.  We might take rest, but never should we allow circumstances to stop us on living.

Everyone should go on with the flow, accepts every ups and downs that comes with it and celebrate life to it's fullest.

And just like what this qoute wants to emphasize,

"Quit hanging on to the handrails . . . Let go. Surrender. Go for the ride of your life. Do it every day."

Zendagi Migzara! Life Goes On!

While the road ahead of us may be clouded with questions and concerns, we can look back and see the many ways God has acted in our behalf to get us to the places we need to be. But more than just us, we see his work through history and we can take assurance that his promises are true and his victory in us is assured.

I've read from one of my favorite blogs, This is Reverb by Pastor Ryan, some tips on how to be a Good Cook. Not that he is really a PRO, but he thinks these things is a must for you to be able to experiment on the taste of the food you cook. Rule of Thumb is " Make everything available to your own reach."

Here are the five tips!

.

cookware

1. Get yourself some decent cookware.

Nice quality, heavy pans prevent uneven cooking and easy burning. How can you know how your food will react if you don’t even know what mood your pans are in?

You’ll need to have a mix of items depending on what job you’re trying to accomplish, but it’s not quite as expensive as you might think. Believe it or not buying high quality cookware is less expensive than buying cheap cookware. For one, you’re not throwing them away every six months. In addition to that, you’ll be going out to eat less if you are making consistently tasty foods at home.

*Rule of Thumb for buying cookware: If it’s cheap, it’s cheap.

 Comparing Cookware

knives

2. You need a sharp knife…or two…or six.

Having a sharp knife in the kitchen is extremely crucial. Have you ever been in that place where you’re trying to, say, chop up some vegetables and your using a dull steak knife because it’s the sharpest thing you can find? It’s not fun. It didn’t make you want to cook. It seems you are fighting with the food.

* Rule of Thumb when buying a knife: Buy what feels balanced and sturdy in your hand. Another Rule of Thumb…keep that thumb out of the way.

ingredients

3. Stock up on some ingredients.

One of the things that prevents people from trying new recipes or experimenting with cooking is that they don’t have the ingredients on hand. Now sometimes it’s in the cards to run out to the grocery store to pick up what you don’t have, but if you want to get dinner on the table consistently you’ll need to have the stuff on hand.

* Rule of Thumb when collecting ingredients: Don’t buy stuff that has a really short shelf life unless you know what you’re going to do with it. You’re wife, husband, or inner conscience will get mad at you if you have to throw something away that you never opened.

freshherbs

4. Use Fresh Herbs.

I try to keep fresh Parsley and Cilantro on hand at all times. Dried herbs are great, but fresh herbs are fantastic. Being able to chop up some fresh Parsley and toss it on top of any dish will give it flavor and presentation appeal.

The flavor difference between fresh herbs and dried is enormous.

* Rule of Thumb when using fresh herbs: Go easy at first…some of these are strong!

5. Learn about Food and Cooking.

You can’t just expect to pick up a frying pan, grab a piece of beef and then execute a perfectly pan-seared steak. You have to know why certain things work the way they work.

There are many blogs out there that teach people about food and cooking.Tons of these blogs exist…look for them and know the good ones.

* Rule of Thumb when learning about food and cooking: Don’t take anything anyone says as gospel. You try it. See if it works for you. If the people you’re feeding are smiling and complimenting, then you’re doing something right.

That's all! Happy COOKING!

Spectacular...Compelling..Vivid...Remarkable...Striking.. Heart wrenching... You may think of all the nice words to describe a good book. All of it would suit to Khaled Hosseini's books, "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns".

Both books were set on Afghanistan, in that same time in the history. But each one has it's own unique story to tell.

The Kite runner is a story of Friendship, Brotherhood, Strength, Lies, Love and Loyalty. This book is  full of emotions. No soft hearted one would not be touched by this story. All the main characters and their quotable line would keep on lingering in your mind even a month after you read it.

For me, the most remarkable lines in this book are,

"For you a thousand times over."

"There is only one sin. and that is theft... when you tell a lie, you steal someones right to the truth."

"There is a way to be good again..."

"War doesn't negate decency. It demands it, even more than in times of peace."

"There are a lot of children in Afghanistan, but little childhood."

On the otherhand, A Thousand Splendid Suns is a story of Afghan women. But it's not just about women. It's a tale of two generations brought together by war and how they struggle to survive, raise a family and find happiness. It's also a story of Love- timeless...forgiving and undestructible.

My favorite lines in this book are:

"Behind every trial and sorrow that He makes us shoulder, God has a reason."

"Of all the hardships a person had to face, none was more punishing than the simple act of waiting."

"I will follow you to the ends of the world."

"You know." "Know what?" "That I only have eyes for you."

"Tariq tucked the gun into the waist of his denims. Then he said a thing both lovely and terrible. "For you," he said. "I'd kill with it for you, Laila."

After reading these books, I think I have to change my favorite author now! :)

Or should I just increase my favorite author list?

 I think it's better.

Dearest Multiply,

I miss you! I really do. It's been quite sometimes now since my last visit to you. I am sorry for that. It's just that I have some new hobbies and I really can't resist them. But it doesn't really mean that I forget you already! I really just don't have a time to blog now but I do always take a peek on you in between some small idle times.

I want to share you some of my new books! You'll love it too for sure. And some of my new pics also.

Hope I can do that on weekends.

You think I need to make a promise so I will be eager to do it??

You won't believe it! I've got this blog from a guy's site. Just can't believe a guy would be as expressive as him. Been reading too much blogs nowadays and because of following link after link, I came across Pastor Ryan's site. I've got interested in his blog and in his life as a cook, a husband, a father, a pastor and most specially a child of God.

Just want to share one of his blog. His anniversary blog. It's been so inspiring!

6 years…

Me and Allison

Today is our 6 year wedding anniversary.

We dated for 3 years.

I cannot believe that I’ve been with Allison for 9 years now…

…and I’m so in love with her.

I see so many couples that just don’t make it.

While this is sad, it gives me a great appreciation for what we have together.

10 years is just up the road…and then there will be 20, 30, 50 years with each other.

She baptized me, and I baptized her.

DSC_0306

Allison took a big chance on me.

For a long time the people around us believed that we shouldn’t be together…

…that we were too different.

But we hung out together almost every day and we realized how well we got along.

What God has joined together, no man can separate.

DSC_0209

She still won’t let me get a Playstation 3…

…but it’s so fun to keep asking for it so that I can annoy her.

We bought our house right before we got married and waited until we were wed to move in.

This house taught us so much about working together as a couple…

…and how to not get divorced over painting styles.

I love you Allison. Will you be my bride forever please?

Yeah. It's kinda old for review already. But it's true. I just got the chance to watch it only yesterday. I've got nothing to do on a lazy Saturday afternoon so I just watched it. It's been in my laptop for quite sometime now and I think it's time to give it a chance.

I have tried to watched it for 3 times already but since I'm trying it on weekdays, I end up getting sleepy.

It's obvious because the first part on the movie is really boring. I don't like the idea of too much torture. And perhaps, the cinematography is not that good.

But since I watched it on a Saturday, I didn't get sleepy this time. And as soon as I surpassed that boring part, I started to enjoy it already.

I've been enthrilled by how he met the answers to the questions.

Especially the Benjamin Franklin and the Samuel Colt answers.

It's truly a mind opener and an inspirational movie. India would really be proud of it.

It showed the bad and good of India.

Kudos to the maker of Slumdog Millionaire!
